What We Do

The CUGF has been set up to glorify God by funding, supporting and encouraging student ministry at UNE to proclaim Jesus Christ and grow believers to maturity in Him, equipping them to build up the Church.

For many people their time at university is a particularly formative time in their lives; it is the first time that they have left the nest, started to live independently and decide their own priorities. This time can be particularly challenging for young Christians as they are exposed to a range of temptations with little local support. It is also a time where many people are open to exploring other world views.

There are great opportunities for ministry that supports Christians who come to university and for discipling them towards Christian maturity. There are also great opportunities for sharing the gospel with people who are forming their own world view. You may have benefited from such ministry yourself.

The CUGF seeks to make the most of these opportunities by funding, supporting and encouraging student ministry at UNE primarily through supporting Christians United, the on campus Christian group.

We need your help to continue supporting gospel work at UNE. Please consider donating to ensure that the work of evangelising, training and discipling can continue to thrive at UNE.

What We’ve Achieved

Over the years Christians United have seen a number of Christians who have come to UNE trained and discipled to be sent off into vocational and lay ministry around Australia and the world. A number of Christians that were involved with Christians United during their university years have gone into vocational ministry including 6 students that are currently studying at Moore Theological College.

Christians United have also been privileged to be a part of God’s saving work in students life, seeing students come to know of God’s love for them, convicted of their sin and turning to Jesus in faith. In recent years one student was converted in his first year and went onto serve on the Christians United student committee.

Thanks to a number of generous donors the CUGF is currently supporting a campus director, an international students worker and two MTS apprentices allowing the work of Christians United to thrive.
